Sunday 28th February 2010

Its been another crazily busy ten days, I have been working doing drive days for one of the manufacturers at Hampton Downs racetrack. The track is awesome and it has been great fun working with the team at Downforce. Also pretty happy that my team - the Red team managed to beat the other two teams in the biggest number of slalom wins.

The other thing that has been keeping us busy is the arrival of our new shape Subaru rally car. The new car is very similar to the one that I drove in the Asia Pacific Championship last year and it now feels like mine with the mounting of the MMMMMS number plate! The new shape car is a great car with it being a further evolution of the previous car which was already very well sorted.

Yesterday we went testing and it was fantastic to be back out on the gravel! The car certainly felt a bit quicker with the new 33mm restrictor, and it makes it a lot more fun to drive. The team had been very busy getting the new car ready this past week so it was great to have an awesome test yesterday. We tried a few new things and developed some parts of the car to suit my driving style better and we finished the first day back in the car feeling quite positive.

So for the next few weeks the car will get a bit of a birthday being totally stripped and rebuilt. All of the parts will be examined and replaced in readiness for our next test session and then the first rally of the season which is actually not that far away. I am really looking forward to the first event of the season in Dunedin.

Don't forget to get one of my new caps - just email me if you would like one!
