What I love about rallying is..... The buzz of driving a car as fast as possible on a closed public road. I love having a car so well set up that it feels like an extension of yourself as you make it dance and glide effortlessly from corner to corner.
What I dislike about rallying is...... The cruelness of the sport and how quickly it can turn from the biggest high to the lowest low!
What I wish I knew about rallying when I started...... I had no idea of how much it was about car setup and team work. Naturally I understood the importance of the codriver having started there myself but I thought if you were talented you would win. I now know that it doesn't matter how talented you are if you don't have a great team of mechanics and an excellent relationship with your engineer than it is almost impossible to succeed.
My favourite rally is..... Rally Finland. I was lucky enough to compete here in 2006 and I loved the roads and the fans. Claire Mole and I won stages in the Ford Fiesta in our very first event together. It was a very special event and I really hope to compete there again in the future.
